It was reported that in the early hours of this morning June 11th 2014, there was an attack in Gako and Tanjol communities in Riyom local government, which left residents terrified. That attack was said to have killed 6 people, leaving 5 people injured and burning down 2 churches.
Here is the news as reported by Premium Times which was confirmed by an Assistant Superintendent of Police and state Police spokesperson, Mr. Dominic Esin.
"On June 11 at about 1 a.m., unknown gunmen invaded two villages of Gako and Tanjol, shooting sporadically and in the process killing 6 persons, and injuring 5 others. The injured persons where rushed to the Vom Christian Hospital. Normalcy has been restored in the attacked areas and members of the public are advised to go about their lawful business and report any unscrupulous elements to the security agencies" he said."
